Black Bolt -sv11B - Japanese Booster Box - Pokemon Trading Card Game

Black Bolt is one of a paired set of expansions—alongside White Flare—celebrating Generation V and featuring all 156 Pokémon from the Unova region. Every Pokémon card in this set receives a secret rare variant of AR (Art Rare) or higher, making Black Bolt one of the most collectible expansions in the modern era. These sets also mark the return of Tinsel Holofoil cards, adding a nostalgic shimmer to the new generation of prints.

Unlike the original Black Collection and White Collection, Black Bolt and White Flare each focus on a version mascot matching their theme. As its name suggests, Black Bolt centers around Zekrom, delivering a striking and powerful representation of the legendary Pokémon throughout the set.

A major debut in these expansions is the new BWR (Black White Rare) rarity—cards with stark monochromatic designs, bold solid-colour backgrounds, and elaborate Holofoil effects. Only two cards receive this treatment: Zekrom ex in Black Bolt and Reshiram ex in White Flare.

Released in Japan on June 6, 2025, Black Bolt offers two booster pack types:

• Regular Packs — contain 7 cards with 2 guaranteed Holofoils
• Deluxe Packs —  contain 35 cards with 1 guaranteed AR rarity or higher

A special Black Bolt / White Flare Card File Set was also released the same day, featuring a 3-pocket album holding up to 156 cards, a Victini promo, and 3 booster packs from each set—perfect for collectors looking to store the entire Unova lineup.
